Clarins Lip Comfort Oil Review

Here’s my review of the Clarins Lip Comfort Oil in shade 04 Pitaya. I thought I’d try this lip oil as I was ordering some other Clarins bits for an upcoming birthday, and it’s a lip product I had on my list to review.
I chose the pinky shade (04, Pitaya) as I’m not used to wearing colour on my lips, and thought I’d give it a go to see if I could bear having lippy on after all these years! 💋
What the brand says
“Lip Comfort Oil is Enriched with 93% ingredients of natural origin. The new and improved formula offers 8 hours of protection and 6 hours of hydration and nutrition.”
Clarins Lip Comfort Oil – how it works
In terms of being marketed as a lip oil, I don’t agree. I find the consistency to be more in line with a lip gloss. I don’t feel it hydrated my lips for a long amount of time, but it did hydrate them for the first hour.
The brand claims the oil isn’t sticky, and I’d give it a stickiness rating of 2/5 as it wasn’t that sticky, but I also wouldn’t want my hair to get caught in it! 😜
I paid £25 for my tube of oil, which I bought from John Lewis (purchased in March 2024).

I’m not sure if I recommend this lip oil or not, as some younger consumers may find it to be perfect for them (I’m 49 years old at the time of writing). I think it’s a nice-to-have, so okay for a splurge, but I don’t think I can recommend it based on the £25 price tag.
