Milk & Blush Hair Extensions Review

I’ve been meaning to do a Milk & Blush hair extensions review for a while. I bought their Blue silicon hair extensions smoother a few years ago but wasn’t really into clip-in hair at the time so didn’t really give the brand much thought – you’ll be pleased to know that my hair (and extensions) is pretty much silicone-free these days.

While I’m still into my LA weave, during the great COVID-19 lockdown of 2020, I obviously couldn’t see my hair technician so I plumped for a set of clip-ins to tide me over.

What the brand says

Milk + Blush Seamless Hair Extensions will transform your hair. You can feel more confident with beautiful, long hair that’s comfortable to wear and easy to clip in.

The Deluxe seamless hair extensions are made with a flat silicone base strip, making them discreet and virtually undetectable.

Cost & Packaging

I purchased the Seamless Deluxe Set of clip-in extensions, this cost £96 plus £6.50 shipping and handling fee. I was lucky enough to find a discount code for £5, so it was £97.50 in total after the discount.

The hair extensions came packaged in a strong silver envelope, which I put into our gift wrap upcycling box. The extensions themselves were inside a lovely pale pink box with a flip-top lid, which closes using a magnet. There are two hairnets to keep the hair from tangling in the box, which I found a thoughtful addition.

The best thing about the packaging is that you get a sample piece of hair to try before you open the whole box. This is an innovation in terms of hair extensions as you usually have to open the whole thing, which can sometimes hurt your right to return if you decide you don’t want to keep them. Well done to Milk & Blush for that idea!

What you get

I ordered the shade ‘California‘, which is a mix of 100% remy human hair in a honey blonde and light warm blonde. I emailed Milk & Blush before I ordered as I have a history of ordering the wrong shades. Most hair extension brands will shade match you using photos you email to them – I usually take a couple of photos in natural light and a couple indoors, so they can recommend the best match.

The hair I received was 16-18 inches long and weighed 160g in total. There are 9 wefts with varying amount of clips so you can cover your entire head. In total you get 2 x 6-inch wefts, 5 x 4-inch wefts, 2 x 1.5-inch wefts, and a volumiser lace weft, which measures 8 inches and is thicker than the other pieces.

The seamless part of the hair extensions can be seen at the top of the weft. The hair has been sealed so it lays flatter against the head. You can place it close to your parting for easier blending/concealment.

Results

I was extremely pleased with the quality of the hair. For less than £100 I expected something of much less quality. There were plenty pf clips sewn to the weft and though the clips seemed a bit strong and snappy for my fine hair, I took extra care when clipping them in and everythig felt secure.

In terms of a colour match for my natural hair, it was perfect. I’m glad I decided to get a shade match before ordering.

The ‘seamless’ part of the wefts looks good when you place the weft where the brand expect you to, but for me, they didn’t always look great as the bonded bit at the top sometimes crinkled and showed as bumps under my hair. Whenever this happened it was because I tried to place the wefts in an awkward place. When I use ‘normal’ wefts (hemmed at the top with cotton), this doesn’t happen so it’s something to think about. I mean, are you as awkward as me? Ha ha.

How did Milk & Blush seamless extensions do?

  • Quality 75% 75%
  • Price 80% 80%
  • Blend & match 100% 100%
  • Value for money 95% 95%

I’d definitely recommend this brand of clip-in hair extensions as I haven’t found anything else for the same price that feels as good quality. You get a good amount of hair for the price and the customer care team were a dream to communicate with.

I’m keeping these in my arsenal for the next lockdown!
